Our brains #1 job is to keep us safe and alive. It is constantly scanning our environment for danger. Anytime it detects something that it perceives as dangerous, our amygdala sounds the alarm, and our body automatically responds by launching a fight flight stress response, releasing cortisol and adrenalin, which we then feel in our body as physical symptoms.
When we are in life threatening danger we need this fight flight fear response to keep us alive. However, our brain also reacts in exactly the same way to our worries and fears. These are our Emotional versions of danger. Heal those worries and fears and the fight flight stress response won't get activated and those physical smptoms of anxiety will ease.
