Nervous System Regulation

Living in a state of chronic high stress causes our nervous system to be in a constant state of fight and flight. Left running like that for too long we can get stuck in overdrive, constantly hyper-vigilant, continuously scanning our world for danger, and flooding our bodies with too much cortisol, leaving us feeling totally exhausted, overwhelmed and physically ill..

Learning to regulate our nervous system back down again, so we can calm our mind and body is key. Rainbow orienting is one of many simple tools we can use to start building cues of safety back into our nervous system. It teaches our mind to start scanning the world with curiousity rather than constantly on the look out for danger. It is a great nervous system tool especially for young kids.
